Education

Junior Pre-med Physiological Science Major/ Labor Studies Minor at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a 3.6 GPA

Experience

I have been tutoring students since my Sophomore year of high school in mainly math. I have a 2000 SAT score and an ACT composite score of 31. I have taken the following AP classes with the corresponding score: AP European History-5 AP United States History-5 AP Biology- 5 AP English Language-4 AP Calculus AB-5 AP Calculus BC-5 AP English Literature-4 AP Environmental Science-4 AP Statistics-4 AP Government-4 AP Macroeconomics-4 I have received both the AP Scholar with distinction (2010&2011) and the National AP Scholar Award (2011). I graduated at the top four percent of my high school. At UCLA, I have taken multiple Chemistry courses- including both General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry-, Math courses -including additional Calculus and Statistic courses-, Biology courses, and multiple Political Science courses which deal with in depth understandings of history and writing. I have managed to maintain a GPA of 3.6, earning myself a spot on the Dean's Honor List. Not only have I tutored High School students, but also students in both elementary school and middle school. I started tutoring because I realized there is always a teacher who cannot explain a concept to students in an understandable way. I like to connect with the student and find ways to explain the topic in a manner that is personalized to them.

Hobbies

Although I do focus on school as a major part of my life, I believe that in order to do well, it is important to have interests outside of Academia. I volunteer with a local Pediatrician in Glendora because I have always loved working with children. I also make it a priority to be able to hang out with friends and blow off steam after a busy week or sleepless nights due to finals:)Unfortunately, I do not drive and therefore we would have to tutor at the Glendora Public Library during any operating hour. Since I am now back at UCLA, I can be available for weekend tutoring, provided a minimum of four hours of tutoring and advanced notice. Please no last-minute cancellations!
